I hate it! just had to have a trim, it's been 2 wks since the last one, have to keep a little stubble on there though, or else i look like a 10 year old with a clean face! plus the GF likes the rugged look So guys, how do you wear your face? clean? stubble? full facial forest? Eric, you still got the goaty goin on? that's what a rocker should wear

Yup, I've still got the goaty. I've shaved it off once in the past 5 years or so. It was horrible! ha ha! I already have a young looking face, so without my goaty, Tonja says she would feel like a pedophile, lol. I use a Gillette Mach 3 razor on the rest of my face, and only shave down in one direction. I used to shave against the grain to get a real smooth shave, but got tired of the razor burn and pimples. Besides, having a goaty sort of defeats the purpose of getting a close shave

I already have a young looking face, so without my goaty, Tonja says she would feel like a pedophile, lol. Lmao. I really hate having to shave, it's a huge pain in the ass. But I find shaving itself kind of relaxing. And it's like a game in a way too, seeing if I can get through it without slicing up my face too horribly. (I always lose.) I always go for clean, but I'm kinda stubbly by the end of the day anyway. Hair doesn't grow in a regular pattern on my face, though, so growing it out isn't really an option. I could probably grow a beard, but a mustache is right out of the question. It's weird. The neck is the worst! It gets so itchy when it's unshaven, and it's a pretty difficult spot to do without nicking yourself. Thus concludes this edition of "Brendon's thoughts on shaving."

Well, until you have to shave your head a couple of times a week, you can't appreciate how much it STINKS! But if I didn't shave my head on a regular basis, my remaining hair would cascade down quickly and I would look like an accountant in a bad 60's movie or worse - my grandmothers fringe lamp she had in the parlor. NOBODY chooses this look. It's mother natures cruel joke. Back in the day, I had nice black wavy hair down past my shoulders, wore the aviators ... yeah! Looked like Pacino in Serpico.
Now? Now, at least without the shaved head and goatee, I look like Jeffrey Tambor or Conrad Janis (Mindy's father on Mork and Mindy). Life is not fair kids, it's just not fair.
The goatee has to be kept really short because it's so grey now.
So my look? Shaved head, tight goatee, little round shades and a beat up old leather jacket. And yet, somehow, I am still a geek. Go figure.

I keep clean shaven but that's only because Sophie doesn't like being pricked by stubble... we have an agreement on the whole shaving thing. I hate shaving, it's just, boring. I have bare patches on my cheeks, like, I get the whole goatie thing going on, with sids, and on my neck, but my cheeks hardly get any. It's a real buzz when you put some aftershave on afterwards though and it stings like hell.

Call me babyface as well. I don't really care for shaving, and I'll let it go on weekends...but yeah, that neck gets itchy after awhile.

As long as Eric keeps it trimmed enough so it doesn't go up my nose when I kiss him - it's all good. Without Eric's facial hair he would look < 15

I hate shaving too.....only shave like once a week. Not b/c I'm lazy but b/c I have sensitive skin and break out everytime I shave, no matter if I use shaving cream or shaving gel, aftershave... nothing prevents the breakouts..and when I say breakouts, I mean razor burn...
I keep a goatee and sideburns.

I have the patch on my chin with it squared off on the sides and bottom and small sideburns. Other than that I usually shave twice a week, sometimes three. Doesn't bother me to shave, skin isn't sensitive and I rarely nick myself with the exception of a tiny nicks when I square off the patch.

I usually have some side burns, but they tend to come and go as they please. I actually pride myself to be a excellent shaver ( ) due to my prolific training; warm water, dispensable razor. That went on for two years before I moved to gel/foam. With that, I usually go in all directions, becuase I think you can't get such a smooth finish by just going down all the time. I had a horrific load of schoolwork last week, and was up for 3-4 days writing a paper, (With 2 months preparation time, no doubt) and was unable to shave at all. this made me learn to hate having an unshaven neck. Also, I recently shaved ny head. It hasnt been this short since 7th grade, probably since I started listening to Led Zep, Floyd, and Velvet Underground... Again, . I'll see if I can post a pic tommorow...

Right, here's a question.
Which is the best direction to shave in? Against the grain or with?
I was never actually shown how to shave, lol, and I always get little cuts, especially on the curve of my chin.

I got my haircut today and remembered how my barber uses a straight razor to trim my sideburns and shave the back of my neck. Has anyone been fully shaved with a stright razor or done it themselves?
