Looking for a new amp instead of a guitar....that pretty much explains it.
I was looking, and a 100 watt halfstack is a big too much for me. So I stumbled upon the marshall micro stack. 300$ on musiciansfriend, 15 w, reverb. Looks pretty nice to me, and I've played through one once. I truly don't need more that 15w, and If I could find a very cheap one on ebay I would also buy it, and run my guitar through them both\
If I'm gonna spend money for an amp that's too big an too loud for me, why not buy one with a sound I like, enough watts for me, and if I can find a cheap other one, even two, for playing live. I mean, two of them side by side would be about 4 inches wider than a standard head...
You guys have any opinions? You guys seen it, played through it..etc? Any suggestions that I might consider instead of this amp?

Never played through one but playing live with two would look insanely cool!

That's what I was thinking.... Marshall-drums-Bass amp-Marshall....

I haven't played one myself, but I have played a Marshall with the same preamp, and it sounds pretty darn nice. I think it would be a cool setup. Two of them in stereo (would need a stereo chorus pedal for that) would be awesome!

Or I'd just go...Marshall-Marshall- and the rest. I just like the side by side marshalls. I'm a die hard BOSS fan...so you know what pedal I would choose.

These days, there are very few places where you can actually use a 100 Watt tube amp. My old Ampeg VT-22 is a bit like a pet Siberian tiger - major mojo, but I can't turn it loose anywhere.
Find a rig that sounds good. If it needs to be louder, put a mic in front of it. The sound man will approve.

In the past month there's been a few gigs at the New Wembley stadium over here, one was in aid of the climate and one was celebrating Princess Diana's life. One thing I noticed was that, even though the bands we're playing to huge audiences, most were using medium size combo's. Whenever I see someone with a huge Marshall stack or whatever, I just think "what's the point?"

I hang onto my 4x12 simply for my own tone gratification. It's too cumbersome and loud for anything else

Exactly, i went to see U2 at the millenium stadium in Cardiff, The Edge uses 2 Vox AC30's and 2 Fender Blues Junior's, a total of 90watts and still blew the the roof off the place

My next and final Amp will be the Blues JR. No need for anything else in my case. That amp with some good pedals will do anything I require.

I had one, the little head and 2 x 10" stacking cabs. The MG15 ms ii or something. I sold it. It was Ok but was by no means tubey if you know what I mean. I'd go the extra mile and fine something all tube driven.
i tried one of the tube tranny hybrids like the AVTs and didn't really care for them either. All tube thats what Id go for !
Im playing a TSL 100 kited out with JJs at the mo and it is just staggering.
I really like the blues Jrs also. Dead good !

I'm going to remind you of this post after you get the blues jr. and then get something else.... come on, you're a guitarist... don't kid yourself into thinking that you'll ever be fully satisfied with an amp. While I'm at it, I would like to suggest you take a look at Traynor amps. They make very very nice all tube amps without too heavy of a price tag.
