My Mesa does not feedback at home with it at ear bleeding levels unless I am on top of the speakers...at practice the other guitarist plays a Marshall at loud levels and when I match my levels to his my amp feedsback like crazy...the amps are only 6 feet apart..it is not a big room...is my feedback due his intense mids going into my pickup??

I'm sure that both of your amps are to blame... along with the high volumes, and not so big room. When you play at high volumes, especially with a 4x12 cab, and high gain, feedback is just something you are going to have to deal with.

... feedback is just something you are going to have to deal with. You say that like its a bad thing! Back in the day, feedback is where all the sustain came from.

I didn't mean it in a bad way. I was just referring to unwanted feedback. I love planned feedback, especially when it does exactly what you want it to do lol.
