Yep, I finally found a band to join, and it feels great to actually be playing again! I found an add on bandmix.com, and e-mailed them about it. So, we set up a time to jam, which went well, so they wanted me to come back. And, that was pretty much that. They liked what I had to add, and therefor wanted me to join the band. We've had about 4 practices so far, all of which have been a blast. I'll add more information as it comes, for those that might be interested. Just thought I'd let ya'll know.

I wouldn't say that I melted faces, seeing as how I'm just a rhythm player, but I didn't do too bad if I do say so myself, ha ha. I doubt I'll get anything recorded anytime soon, but as soon as I do, I'll be sure to post it.
They play a lot of stuff that I haven't played before, but the songs aren't too hard. I think with my more classic rock, and also my heavier influences added in with their influences, we've got a lot going for us. The lead singer/guitarist can write some fine lyrics, and he's got some nice chops on the guitar. All that's missing is a second guitar to fill things out, but that's not a problem anymore.
Here's the current song list:
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite 3 Doors Down - Life of my Own Billy Idol - Rebel Yell Black Sabbath - Paranoid Black Sabbath - War Pigs Collective Soul - Gel Collective Soul - Heavy Cranberries - Zombie Foo Fighters - Hey Johnny Park Goo Goo Dolls - Black Balloon Goo Goo Dolls - Slide Jimmy Eat World - The Middle Iced Earth - Watching Over Me Lilix - What I Like About You Matchbox Twenty - Real World Matt Mays - Cocaine Cowgirl Nazareth - Hair of the Dog Neil Young - Keep on Rockin' In The Free World Our Lady Peace - Not Enough Our Lady Peace - Starseed SemiSonic - Closing Time Tom Petty - Free Fallin' G'n'R - Sweet Child of Mine Golden Earing - Radar Love
There's also about 6 original songs that we're working on. I haven't brought any of my originals to the table yet, but I probably will at some point. I'm just along for the ride at the moment.

That's great news! Glad to hear you're back on the ol' fretboard my friend. So now we know where the next kick-ass band is coming from, eh? Don't forget to set a stop in Pittsburgh when you do the world tour! Looking forward to hearing some stuff when you get it recorded. I'm very pleased for you.

Well, I just quit the band. Things just weren't working out. They were young and inexperienced, and there was no leadership in the band at all. I contemplated taking control of the situation, but finally decided that it just wasn't worth the headache. So, I'll be back to doing my own thing now, at least until I can find a more established group to play with.

On a brighter note, I just realized that Tonja's computer has a firewire card, so I'll be able to finally do a little recording again

So, I'll be back to doing my own thing now, at least until I can find a more established group to play with. Ok, I've got a question pertaining to this jamming stuff. Recently I quit my band as well, and found some others to jam with, one of which is a good friend. Jams sound great and everything falls into place. Problem is whenever we try to make a song out of stuff it just falls into a state of stupor. I've never jammed before and work best alone, but I'd rather not exclude the others out of their share of duty. So tell me, what is it that you look for to come out of jams?
