I know I'm not the most fluid, and certainly not very fast, but I was surprised how clumsy this exercise made me.

Oh, I'm not saying the exercise made me clumsy...just that it exposed how clumsy I already was in being a difficult (though beneficial) exercise. So if one could get these down easy, fast changes to weird chord shapes will be a breeze.

you're not the only one rustee... i tend to still have inaccurate chord changes... hopefully this execrcise will help.. thanks for the linkage
i still dont get how my chord changes are still crappy after playing everyday for 2 years...
