You dirty, dirty man! Is that a combo, or a cabinet? What model? Either way, be sure to give us a full tone report ASAP!

I sense your exitement Eric ;D i'd love to say it's an Orange AD30TC combo and i wish it was! but i never get the opportunity to crank a valve amp high enough to do it justice so i've settled for the Orange Crush 30R, it's actually a christmas present from my girlfriend (she ordered early to avoid disappointent, and it was on offer at a reduced price with free delivery) i've been trying one out recently and compared it to a Fender Blues Junior and a Vox AC15 and actually prefered the Crush! Basically i wanted a cheap practice amp for jam sessions, it had to be versatile because although i'm mainly a blues/rock kinda guy i also like to play a bit of funk and some heavier rock, it needed to be something well built enough to withstand regular travelling in the boot of the car, and it ticked all the boxes, the cleans are very nice, not quite got the chime of a vox but close, the overdrive is amazing for a solid state amp and is footswichable, very valve like, highly tweakable with gain and level controls and typically british voiced which you'd expect from an Orange, the onboard reverb is a nice touch too, i'll be running a Vox cooltron overdrive pedal into it just because it adds that extra 'feel' that you get from valves, so all in all a great little practice amp very reasonably priced and it looks cool as f***, it might just be the amp to steal the Vox pathfinder's title as the 'Holy Grail' of practice amps

Today it's a Danelectro Fab Chorus, as previously mentioned in the EQ pedal thread i'm putting together a 'mini' pedalboard to take to jam sessions, so i wanted a cheap chorus, i've heard good things about the Fab chorus so when i found a new one on evil-bay for a tenner thought i'd give it a shot, WOW its awesome! really fleshes out clean guitar parts, quite thick and vintage sounding, it even does a pretty good tremelo and its not noisy, none of that faint 'swooshing' in the background when switched off, its definately a keeper so it's now going on my main board, just gotta figure a way to rehouse it in a proper enclosure, i already have a Fab distortion which i love the sound of but these Fabs just look like ass!

Ok, so it arrived today, 4 days delivery shipped UPS from sunny California, so, as requested, here is a sort of mini review. Danelectro Fish'n'Chips 7 band EQI bought this mainly because at the place (former military hanger) where my buddy and i jam; the acoustics are diabolical so i'm hoping it will restore some of my tone at jam sessions. There are 7 bands (obviously!) 100,200,400,800,1.6k,3.2k,6.4k all of which will boost or cut by 15db max, there is also a 15db boost/cut level control, it's the first EQ i've ever owned so i've nothing to compare it to, but, it definately shapes your tone, i've tried several configurations so far and it's all good, it really does make a difference, and it's dead quiet! no noise! zero, zilch, nought, nowt, nothin (even with 2 o/d's and a distortion runnin thru it!) I bought this off e-bay (brand new) for £19.50 + shipping £5.50, they usually retail at £30-£35 here in the UK and for the same amount in $ in the US, but even at full price they're still half the price of the Boss GE-7 which generally gets a bad rap due to it's excessive noise. It's made of plastic (abs) which like most of the Danelectro range puts people off, make no mistake, you will have to be BREEEEWTAL to break this thing, modern cars are made from thinner cheaper plastic than this, it is solid, but jump off your Marshall stack onto this, you will break it.....and your ankle! the footswitch is metal and small, you need to tap it delicately with your toe.... NOT the sole of your boot (not a problem for a guitarist, after all we can all delicately sweep pick our arps can't we....can't we Akira ) the styling might not be to everyones taste but personally i quite like the 'sixties, american, retro' thing thats it's doin and lets face it, if your a giggin guitarist the punters are never gonna see it on stage anyway. So to sum up, this is a fantastic little EQ pedal for 30-35 dollars/pounds i'm not gonna tell you it's the greatest, cause there's probably somethin better out there, but it's FAR BETTER than you have any right to expect for the price, it does EXACTLY what it says on the tin, it's quiet, it looks cool, it WONT make your bank statement turn red, it will run from a standard 9v power supply or a battery (mine came with a battery inside) stratmans score: 4/5 i only don't give it a 5 because there's bound to be something insanely expensive out there thats a little bit better. Anyway, i hope this little review may be of help to anyone considering using an EQ, feel free to PM me if you want any further info

Seems like quite a neat little pedal, I like how it has an overall level slider, as opposed to the MXR 6 band EQ pedal. Good that's it's quiet too, as opposed to the GE-7 which sounds like you're in a white noise torture room. And yes we can all delicately sweep pick our arps.

This week it's a Digitech Sreamin Blues (no picks yet) the GF is buying it for my upcoming annual age change, i'm having this to replace my Behringer Blues Overdrive; for no other reason than now i've got a proper amp and a couple of real guitars i'm turning into a snob that and the fact that i've been seriously impressed with my Digitech Bad Monkey.
