Cool Josh...thanks for sharing. You might also be interested in listening to the sounds of the aurora, as converted from natural radio waves. They can vary, but generally they produce crackling, popping, whistling, and whooshing. You can listen to many more samples here: www-pw.physics.uiowa.edu/mcgreevy/ Otherwise, I also came across this blog post that discusses much about the sounds of space and the sub-genre of music it has inspired.

Sound and space are both equally awesome.

Jupiter sounds awesome.
I bet all the best guitarists come from there.
I'm going to use my man skills to populate Jupiter and create a race of awesome guitarists.

Lol Sean.
Yeah, that was really strange, but really cool. I've never thought about the particular sounds a planet may make.

No surface? No problem...for badasses. In fact, is that not Jupiter's Great Storm shown to the lower right in that turbulence below? Of course it is. great guitarist + now blatantly apparent Jupiter imagery + solution to atmospheric transportation + Sean being the biggest Satch fan among us = hmmm...it's all too clear now.

Could be Saturn's imagery.

What? You picked a swirl of junk as being cooler than the mass of destruction that is the black hole they orbit? Black holes are easily way cooler... because they're black... and stuff. However I will credit you that quasars are still pretty blasted cool.

I don't know, maybe its because I'm a girl.
Space really hasn't interested me too much. Either than Marvin the Martian, I haven't been inclined to learn about it too much. There is way too much about the planet I live on that is such a mystery that I'd rather learn about that...

As much as I like space and astronomy and stuff, I'm going to have to agree with Tonja. I think people should put forth more effort at learning all the unknowns about our own planet, rather than wasting billions of dollars on space research.

Or, you know, forgetting all the unknowns anywhere until the known problems are under control.
