Yep, congrats. Hope it all works out well for ya. Your (soon to be former) place of employment damn well better throw you a party, and not just a donut and a card either. More like a buffet with 17 choices...17 years is quite a run. And maybe they can raffle off your coveted office supplies, vacation slots, and parking space.

Congratulations!
17 years is a looooong time, how do you feel about leaving there for a new place?

Both excited and a little scared. But that's just natural I guess.

The final phases are starting. Physical tomorrow along with the usual urine drug screen.
Background check started.
I figure It will be after the new year before I actually start.
Now even more nervous about the whole thing. I kinda hate "letting my current company down"
But hey, I gotta look out for me in this world. I'll get over it. I'm just sayin'

Don't sweat it. It's business. Unfortunately that's the name of the game... some company's don't pay what people are worth and take them for granted. You have been loyal to them for 17 years - not the other way around. They let you down.

Good luck with it all!
Listen to Tonja... you're not letting them down, so don't worry about it. True, it might be putting them in a small bind for a short while, but that's not your fault. They wouldn't have had to worry about it had they given you more incentive to stay.

I have to await the results of a background check and drug test. Neither are a problem, but I have to wait for final word before I drop the bomb at my present job.
Waiting sucks......always has.......always will

Outstanding! Tomorrow might feel a little weird but it'll go alright. Employers are usually fairly intuitive and you just might find that they are almost expecting it. Good luck on the new gig!
