Oh, okay. Sorry. I've been going through a rough patch and haven't been sleeping well. I don't think as clearly some days as I might like. *hug*

It would seem that the main cause for the current hike in crude oil prices is the US $ dying on it's arse, (well done Rustee ) with the $ so weak OPEC has to push prices up because it's members are receiving smaller revenues for their production, however this isn't the only problem, global oil prices reacted strongly (nov 07) as OPEC members began talk of global oil production being traded in Euro's instead of $ in the future, in the long term that may not be a bad thing, because at least then, when America sneezes the rest of the world won't catch a cold however it'll probably only bring on a whole lot of new problems instead

I was watching tv yesterday and a commercial came on for the upcoming monster truck show. And of course at the end the over enthusiastic voice-over guy screams, "and kid seats are still just 5 bucks!" They've been $5 as long as I can remember (I'm 28). Let's trade those bad boys...screw the dollar! ;D

"Kids Monster Truck seats are up against the Euro by 5 cents today"

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that the cost of producing gasoline for consumption is roughly the same world-wide. What causes the big difference in price is taxes!!!
People allow socialists to convince them that fuel consumption is evil, and next thing you know, there's huge, 'punitive' taxes strapped onto the cost of fuel.
The real world price of gasoline is about US 50 cents/liter, including the oil companies' profit of about 2 cents. You daft Europeans are being raped by your own governments!

Good point LATS, over here i'm currently paying £1.07/litre around 76 pence of that goes to the government in taxation to stop "global warming" but what to do about it? the other political parties are all as bad!
