It's a sad day when you can't even pay a bill over the phone without fearing that the person on the other end will take your credit card and, say, pay someone else's $1000 water bill as well. I'll tell you, it sure is intense seeing that on your bank statement. I wonder what they did that cost them that much... maybe they were running a desalination plant or something.
On the plus side, through a day of phone harassment, I was able to get it resolved.

That really sucks. It's really annoying when someone takes it upon themselves to take someone elses hard earnt money. I too am intrigued as to how someone ends up with a water bill that high though. Glad you got it resolved pretty quickly though.

Yeah, it could've been much worse. I've been dealing with my bank lately to get a new account set up and close my other one just to keep my paranoia at ease. That's taking longer than it took to get my money back... go figure. Oh well, I guess.
