My cousin burnt me some DVDs recently, and they won't play on my DVD player. I can watch them on my computer, but I'd like to be able just to pop em in and watch them on the TV. I figured it was the fact that the videos on the DVD were in xvid format, so I was gonna download a converter. But then I realized I don't know what format DVD players would pick up on. I'm thinking mpeg, but I'm not totally sure.
You're a pretty tech-savvy bunch, so can anyone explain to me (in the simplest terms possible) the difference between DVD-Rs and DVD+Rs? Which one would be better to use in terms of playability on a regular DVD player? And what format should I have the videos in?
