What is this world coming to? To me this seems to be a very silly debate. I jusy hope neither company is damaged inreparably in the end, as my love for both of them is very strong.

Yeah, I didn't really even think of the p.r. side of it, and I wonder how much Gibson did as well. You know, the mostly young demographic that's playing this (guitar related game, duh) is a huge target market. Does Gibson think they won't be angered if production is halted?

Uh, what about, like, the phonograph? I hope Thomas Edison's estate sues Gibson now.

It will never see a jury. It'll settle quietly and the most likely result, IF Gibson can back up its claim, in a cash settlement and a joint-marketing agreement. Once it drops from sight, people will forget about this quickly. There are so many patent infringement suits that come and go, most people really don't remember them once they disappear into the discovery and expert reports...

Yeah, you're prolly right there Hunter. I just read in the Wall Street Journal that Gibson also just filed a similar suit against Viacom & Electronic Arts over "Rock Band".

Like I needed another reason to dislike Gibson

Is it just me or does Gibson have the biggest stick up their ass in the entire music industry?

I think they should sue guitar hero for being the MOST FUN I HAVE EVER HAD, EVER.

I actually personally enjoy Rock Band a bit more. At least you can zazz it up and sing or play drums instead... and it's sponsored by Fender and I'm a bit more for Fender than I am Gibson. Never actually played guitar hero though, so I can't say much.

I used to like guitar hero. Then christmas came and guitar hero iii came out and being that at the time I lived in a very small town with NOTHING to do besides go over to joe's house and get drunk I grew tired of the game very quickly. Rock Band is hard while drunk. Yes all my comments still involve mostly drunkness still.
