;D Led Zeppelin to Perform Comeback Gig By Associated Press 1 hour ago
LONDON - Led Zeppelin will perform a one-time comeback concert in memory of Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic Records.
The band will perform together for the first time in 19 years on Nov. 26, at London's The O2 venue, on the banks of the River Thames.
Promoters said the concert would pay tribute to Ertegun _ the label boss who popularized Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Led Zeppelin _ who died in December at age 83.
"During the Zeppelin years, Ahmet Ertegun was a major foundation of solidarity and accord," Led Zeppelin singer Roger Plant said Wednesday. "For us he was Atlantic Records and remained a close friend and conspirator."
Ertegun, who founded the Atlantic Records label, signed Plant's band in 1968 and later snapped up the Rolling Stones.
Organizers said Led Zeppelin's remaining original members Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will headline the concert with late drummer John Bonham's son, Jason, on drums.
The Who's Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman, Foreigner and young Scottish singer Paolo Nutini _ the last British act Ertegun signed _ will also play at the tribute concert.

Sounds like an event only the rich and famous will be attending... Probably next to impossible to get tickets.

125 quid a pop, tickets drawn by lottery !
Im sorry Im just not going to pay 250 bucks each - that would be 500 USD for a night out for me and the misses! There could a stage full of supermodels all doing rude things to each other and Id still not pay that much to watch !

Do you think they will be as good as they were 40 years ago ?
Led Zep 1 was released in 1969, that is 38 years ago. It is older than I am !

Without Bonham in the line-up, what's the point

Im pretty sure Plant isn't the spring chicken her was 38 years ago 2 ! I mean it is nice to get all nostalgic and all however I still remember going to see Bob Dylan a couple of years ago. He was terrible and I wish I still remembered him as a spunky 20/30/40 something !
And Im sure I could find something cool to do with 500 bucks (and that is just the door money). I mean that is an Avalon U5 DI !! !

I'm sick of reunions. I don't even have to list the reasons. Some new music sounds like reunions live. *sigh* I listen to a talk radio show that is popular here in the municipal area of D.C. and Chevelle was playing live on it this morning.... oh... my... god... those boys need some lessons or something and come back in a couple 100 years when they have an ounce of talent in their body.

I like Led Zeppelin as much as your average greasy-haired teenage weiner, but this is dumb. Led Zeppelin died when Bonzo choked on his own puke.
In fact, the whole thing kind of makes me wish I wasn't wearing my Led Zeppelin shirt right now.
