Is it possible that vinyls may not be made anymore? The idea has been bothering me for a while, and I was wondering if I'm being paranoid, or worried for no real reason. Most bands I know don't release them, and I'm starting to think that might not be made anymore, in this digital age, where most music is stored via ipods, irivers, mp3 players and such. Cassettes were huge, now they're gone. CD's themselves are slowly losing ground to digitaly storing methods to music. Am I just worrying over nothing?
Discuss.

A lot of artists still make them. I wouldn't worry about it too much just yet. In a few years....maybe.

I think there will always be a demand for vinyl. There will however be one or two producers of vinyl. Supply and demand ya know

Vinyls will always be around. Hmmm... I'm not 100% sure of this. I seem to be only able to find "club" music on vinyl these days. It's harder and harder to find music shops that carry it because: 1. It takes up an insane amount of space 2. Only appeals to a very small audience (typically DJs) As for #2, a lot of DJs have moved from the vinyl to digital and I have a feeling that vinyl will all but extinct in the next 5 years. For me, they're extinct now... except for my guitar room wall, of course.

My son works for one of the UK's largest record store chains and he tells me that vinyl is making a comeback and that more bands are releasing stuff on vinyl these days as well as CD. BTW, taylormade, nice guitar room there bro
