Anyone used one of these ...any good ?
at 125 quid, it is considerably cheaper than the Focusrite liquid channel (3K) however I strongly suspect the difference in price will be reflected in the way it sounds !!!
However I do like many other Line6 products... and ...well ...
oh dear some one please tell me this is a POS !!!

Hey good to see ya Doc! I haven't personally used the Line 6 Tone Port but my mate's brother uses one all the time, his recorded guitar sound is as good as anything i've heard on CD.

Welcome Doc...I'm interested in the Tone Port too. Mostly for the mic preamp sound as well. My mic through the pod is somewhat undesirable to put it nicely.

Yep, Im interested to see if it can hold its own against the vt737 or an M5 it will be sitting next to, even when loaded up with a C414 !!
Might get one just to do an A/B test

I've got one.
Heres my take on it:
Handy little system if you can't afford better. The presets that Line 6 gives you are typical Line 6 presets--horrible. However, most of us are tweakers, so we don't settle for any preset tone typically.
I'm recording stupid and really have no idea what I'm doing. This works better than what I was using with just a mic in front of my amp and some recording software. I'd say, most people who know a thing or 2 about recording wouldn't be satisfied with this though.
But as I said, I'm not the person who should be placing judgement.

Yeah, I'd go along with Stacknymint. The presets are 'synthetic'. I cant really judge the mic preamp settings, I'm no expert, but it does sound a little 'dead'.
That said, I use mine with a VERY low end mic, and it makes that sound way better than nothing at all, but it is built to a price & I guess if you already have good kit, you'd be disappointed. It has drawbacks too - you can't use it without the Line6 software. You can bypass the software engine, but it sucks the tone if you do.
