Hey all. I've been quietly lurking. I'm interested in this preamp for mic and CBGuitars. Anyone have any experience with this unit or even the company. Any info would be helpful. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/TubeMPpsUSB/

Never used that particular model but I've played about with ART equipment before.
I'm currently using an ART SGX Nightbass rackmount processor for recording bass (will soon be mine when I negotiate a price with the seller), although a little dated it's a top quality unit.

I'm kinda partial to PreSonus myself. I have a PreSonus Firebox and a Comp16, and they're both very nice. The preamp in the Firebox is pretty nice too. I don't have experience with their tube preamp, nor do I have experience with ART stuff. I'd take a look at them both, and try to keep my options open. You might also want to take a look at >This One< as well. It's supposed to be one of the best in it's price range.

I use the ART TPS for twangy clean guitar, it is just cool ! The compression is just what I want and the tone is just right. it is not really fare to call it a tube preamp as the tube is there for show more than anything. Still it sounds nice on guitar !
It sits next to a Avalon M5 and a vt737sp (hardcore tube beast) and is still my go to twangy guitar preamp !
I just don't use it on vocals !

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm still looking. I want it to be good for vocal and work as a preamp for the CBG's. I don't have fire wire or a sound card other than the standard computer integral sound crap, so everything I have for recording is USB. So far this has worked fine and no latency trouble. I've been recording vocals through my pod but it's not very good for that. Vocals always sound like a live bar gig. I also need this thing to go direct to an amp some times as a pre for my cbg's and for micing my acoustic guitar. (I know I want a lot from a single piece of equipment.)

Have you thought about a Line6 tone port ? I haven't used one but the speck should fit the bill.
