Thanks for the kind words and concern. I am, in fact, still alive! Quiet night last night and no word from this dude today. But I have learned a few things; first off, he is apparently a junior mobster of some sort, has threatened to crush the skull of a guy with a chunk of concrete, has threatened to throw a guy from a roof and has pulled a knife on another guy. Jeez. Think this guy has some issues? "Mommy liked my brother better so now I'm going to be an asshole..." My employer wanted me to leave town for a while but I nixed that idea. Hunter's no punk. I don't run. Secondly, I think he's just blowing hot air and third, if we play into these sorts of threats it just gives every other two bit Tony Soprano wannabe an excuse to puff up his chest and started making demands. Not going to happen. So, that's that. However, if you don't hear from me for a while, check out the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and see if there's anything there! (Kidding....kidding...It'll be cool) Thanks again. I'm glad you are ok. But still I'd be very cautious. Hopefully he was just blowing off steam, but I wouldn't take any unecessary risks. There are some real crazies out there... I'd never had thought that insurance adjusting would be such a stressful dangerous job...

Thanks Tonja - I am not overly concerned but I will be looking over my shoulder for a few days! I told my father that I was going to the sporting good store this weekend and purchasing a few baseball bats. One for the house and one for the car. Hopefully I would never be in a situation where I would need one, but better safe than sorry.
I'm in agreement - who would have thought being an insurance adjuster would get you a death threat? Some people are nuts.
Zoso, I think you're right. Too many people know about this now so I think he'll quiet down. Well, he should if he's smart.
I wonder if my employer would mind if I started bringing Ms. Cleo into work? 100 pounds of very loyal German Shepherd who would gladly rip someone apart if they came after me.

@ Hunter: I went to return a few Craftsman fiberglass shovels a while back since we break the handles all the time. One was completely in two and I forgot to bring the handle in with the rest of the shovel. So I just left that in my truck for my just in case incidents, which I would probably completely forgot about in a serious situation. The most use Its gotton was my drunk brother and his friends fighting with it when I was driving them home from the bar one night. zoso: He's just a brother named james who plays the guitar .

You're probably right Elk, I would have the bat in the car and would probably forget about it if I needed it anyway. But still, it'll make me feel like I am making some attempt to protect myself while I make the commute to that nifty little hell hole I call an office. As far as in the house, I think it's a good idea. I have plenty of other weapons around here but a bat would be a welcome addition.

Most definatly. The best place for it would probably be the bedroom.

I prefer this smaller community with people who log on on a(relativley) often basis, say compared to a fallen forum filled with apathetic newbies who don't feel like searching for things themselves. Here, there are plenty of guitar vets with the knowledge and freindliness to help eachother. Everyone here can practically share anything, even if it's not so strictly music related.
Besides, I got sick of the idea having to pay for online lessons... Fuck, I just wanna play guitar!

I imposed some different time allocations on myself, and I find I prefer playing to writing about it. That, and I'm slowly fixing up a workshop so I can build some gear as well as play with it. Haven't been on either forum much lately. As for the outsourcing to China, I think the trouble has only begun. They're building cheap shit now, because that's what American buyers said they wanted. As consumers start to demand better quality, you can be sure the Chinese will respond. If you think the Japanese experience over the last 50 years has been something, wait til you see what a couple billion motivated Chinese can do to the world economies!
