Thought some might like to hear about what I did last weekend...that being a 4 day motorcycle rally. I went to it last year and it was pretty interesting, but this year they went all out. They estimated at least 500,000 came. I took a few pictures on Friday evening, but on Saturday there were so many people I only took a couple, not to mention trying to get a good beer buzz and watching several bands. One of the bands was called Modoc, who were a Southern rock cover band (mostly a Skynyrd tribute band complete with dancing backup women). They kicked serious ass and really brought out all the biker gangs. Of course they closed with Freebird. Also worthy of mention was another local trio called The Blue Threads, with a really young but fiery blues/rock guitarist. The singing leaves a lil to be desired imo, but nice solos! Anyways, there were so many cool bikes, trikes, and choppers I didn't really try to get individual pictures, but here's a few: On Friday evening on the StrandStill Friday eveningSaturday evening, our favorite beachside icehouse taken over by bikersWay more people line the "chute" on Saturdaysome random cool chopperI actually ran into my older brother there who I hardly ever see. He rides a Harley, and on Saturday he put really high octane fuel in so it would shoot flames when he revved it. Good times, good times.

Looks like a really good excuse to drink a lot of beer ! We used to play the MAG meetings with China Drum. It was always a riot !

Wow, seriously quite a few bikes there! Seems like you had a good time. Haha, cool about the high-octane fuel. Drag bikes run on nitrous methane, it's lethal stuff really, they're not allowed to use it to start the bike for risk of explosions, so they use conventional fuel before letting it run on the nitrous methane. Obviously if they spill any or get a leak it's time to run.

Good stuff bud! I'm with Simon... any excuse to drink large quantities of beer is a good one, and that looks like a damn fine reason to me

Were those all Harleys/Customs or were their metric bikes as well?

That was hell of alota bikes! My dad recently (sorta) got rid of his Harley... He chromed it out as humanly possible and put ostrich skin on the seats and everything. We would ride it to church... Which was the only thing that I would wake up for before noon on a Sunday.

Were those all Harleys/Customs or were their metric bikes as well? By far the majority were Harleys and such, but there were all kinds. In fact, the one that got the biggest roar from the crowd was a really fat cop going down the chute on a moped. He even revved it up. Hilarious!
