I thought I would start a thread about concerts that people have seen this summer and what they thought about them. Living in a smaller city in Canada the majority of concerts for us are in the warmer months.
The only concert we have seen so far is the Nickelback concert on the hill that happened on Canada Day. They had a pretty good lineup with Staind and Finger eleven, Chris Daughltry and Hedley. Staind were really great and I must say I was pleasantly surprized by Nickelback. They put on a very entertaining show, although the tribute to Dimebag Darryl messed up a bit (the audio didn't play for the big screen video). They are really great entertainers.... There are lots of great musicians out there, but to have the gift to entertain as well makes a big difference for live shows.
So what shows have you seen so far this summer or plan to see? Tell us about them.

Nothing so far. =(
Unfortunatly I wasn't able to arrange transport for Vai so I guess my summer is going to be pretty bare for gigs.

I've only been to a few underground shows so far, but they've been good, especially since one was nearby a Sonic and we all freaked out when we passed it.
I have three concerts comming up in the beginning of August, and its badically gonna be one crazy weeked. Aug 2nd is Slayer, Marlyin Manson and I think Through the Eyes of the Dead, then the next day is Warped Tour, then after I leave Warped I'm going down to Carlyle (sp?) for Car Show weeked, get hammered and hopefully find some chicks, then Sunday I''m driving back to see the Family Values tour. I can't wait, I'm gonna need a few dyas to re-cooperate from that. Then Ozzfest comes on Aug 22nd which is gonna be fun. Lineup isn't that good at all, but there are a handful of bands I would like to see, and not to mention this could be Ozzy's last year on tour...at least I hope not.

Going to see Steve Vai the 24th of this month plus an extra bonus for me is I ordered his new CD "Sound Theories" and in 2500 random copies of his CD there is a satin pass that allows the user to meet him after the show well I got my copy(can only be ordered through his site) and low and behold inside my CD was a satin pass ;D

I'm a Staind freak, so I've seen them twice this summer and I've seen Aaron Lewis's solo show, which I highly recommend. Other than them, I've seen Hinder (ugh), Black Stone Cherry (HELL YEAH) and Stone Sour (meh). Would have given my left one to see RATM in California.

I've yet to see any shows yet. But I'm seriously considering Steve Miller Band, The Allman Bros Band, Alice in Chains, and Velvet Revolver in August.
Oh yeah, I saw Satch live last year. Eric Johnson opened for him. Need I say whether or not that was an insane show?
