I'm contemplating seeing Halen. I;d only go if I could get my brother/s to go with me. They;re playing at the Spectrum (what they use for ice hockey, area football and such) and I hate concerts in places like that.

Well i know summer's a dim and distant memory for many of us now so it's more like Concerts of the Winter 2007 but anyways, i'm off to see the 'Bootleg Beatles' on Friday, i think they're the Uk's biggest Beatles tribute band (and apparently VERY good) and then i'm off to Manchester to see the recenty reformed 'The Verve' next week.

I was supposed to go see Seether and Three Days Grace with my friends, but apparently the floor tickets sold out right away and they didn't want to go with non-floor seats. Frankly, I'm relieved. I hate those bands anyway.
Whoo for saving $40!

I didn't get to see much this past year....here are the biggest shows I saw, and none were huge....
* The Machine (Pink Floyd tribute band) * Hank Williams III * Stuck Mojo (opened for them) * Powerman 5000 (opened for them) * Flyleaf * David Allen Coe

I only went to one concert this year (not counting bar bands and such), and that was the obligatory ZZ Top show at the Houston Rodeo. The Foo Fighters are playing here this month...that might be cool, but nah. I really regret not going to see Joe Bonamassa in Sept. What was I thinking? I don't know, I guess I didn't want to go alone (as none of my friends care much for the blues). I could've taken my father-in-law who also likes him...but that wasn't especially appealing either. Regret sucks.

i went to see kaki king again few weeks ago (1st december)... the performance was o-k, crowd was crap, seating arrangements even more so crap (felt violated a few times)... i spoke to her after...just a short conversation abt her girlfriend getting into a nasty thumb acident and having to put 6 stitches or something...
oh i also went with the wrong company but they had the courtesy to go with me since not many people are interested in her anyway... so my overall experience was a major O-K one.

Speaking of shows... Has anyone read anything about Led Zep's gig a few nights ago?

Speaking of shows... Has anyone read anything about Led Zep's gig a few nights ago? I've read a few reviews, seems the gig was a huge success, there's now a few ' rumours' around that they'll do a gig at Madison Square Garden and maybe a tour, nothin confirmed so far as i know.

Yep, all the reviews seem positive. There's a few clips going round youtube. Granted, the audio isn't great on most, but one of the better ones featuring "Black Dog" really captured Page's tone well, which seemed extra bottom heavy...fat and crunchy. It was nice.
I'm a pretty huge Zeppelin fan myself, but overall I wasn't too impressed. Plant's vocals seemed 1/2 ass most of the time, and he frequently chose different melody lines altogether. I know he prolly doesn't have the range anymore, but that wasn't totally it. And Page, though I love the dude, has never been that clean and fluid in concert, with his improv leaving a little to be desired at times. Bonham Jr. did a great job though. The most noticeable thing was every clip I've seen so far had at least one example of high frequency feedback. That's not necessarily their fault, but still, c'mon. All that being said, I still would've loved to have been there. They did film it, so I'd expect a DVD release next year.
