Well, i'm gonna go get my self Warped in 8 days... I don't really care for the music, though it'll get me out of the house. Me and bro are going, with a pair of V.I.P passes, though I don't really think we'll meet any bands. Also, I'm gonna see The White Stripes, like 3 days later. That'll be great, becuase I used to really into them. My tasts have changes over time, though I still have a great love for them. And who knows, I just might do a few more gigs. The only one so far was about a month ago, at my oldest sis's wedding. I played "Vivaldi's concerto for guitar in D"... And the lead off this Mindy Smith tune. It was really fun, and kinda scary...(it was for my sister!)

I heard it was a really great show. Also I heard they did a surprize concert in Newfoundland - they played one note. Yeah that's right... One note - they pulled up in their limo got out and played one note on their guitars - I heard it was an F.. lol Then they got back into their car and left. Apparently they did that to say they have officially played every province in Canada...

I was going to see them when they were in Tampa, but my wife's friend's getting married that night and of course, I've known about it for 4 months. dammit! At least with Layne gone, you know they'll show up and play! heh heh. Jerry needs the money!

My friend who has seen AIC within the last year tells me they are still very good...and heck I get to see Jerry Cantrell...So it can't be all bad.
I'm mainly excited about Slash though.

They kept doing these surprise shows in all the provinces and territories. Here in Winnipeg, they spent the day jamming with buskers in and around the Forks, and played a show on a city bus. And I heard in Hamilton or Ottawa or somewhere, they spent the day playing for terminally ill kids and posing for pictures with each and every one.

I'm just jealous, I assure you. I watched the AIC Unplugged video the other day again, and man, Layne looks like he's going to die during the performance. I'm actually surprised he held on for another 7 years after that show. He was forgetting lyrics and singing the second verse when it was supposed to be the first... just insane. What's crazy is even with all that, he still sounded great. That's a death in the rock biz that's definitely affected me. AIC was one of the main reasons I wanted to learn to play guitar. Have fun at the show and belt out the Nutshell chorus for me!

I've just seen certain songs...In fact, all I can recall seeing is "Would". But the album is fine. I'm surprised to hear Layne had some trouble.

Yeah, he was a mess... you could tell right from the onset when he came out. He looked to be about 90 pounds and he had two shirts on which may have made him look a little bigger than he actually was. Not that I advocate obtaining items off the internet, but if you do a little searching, you can find the entire concert in avi format at about 700mb. It's an excellent show.

OK.
Things started off with some stupid emo band called Kill Hannah. There were about 4 Kill Hannah fans in the place and all of which were 14 year old girls.
Next in line was AIC. I was very impressed by the new lead singer William Duvall. If I was blind and didn't know Layne was dead, I don't think I could've told the difference. My personal favorites that they played were Would, Man in the Box, and Rooster. I wish they could've done at least a couple of acoustic songs, but that didn't happen. They still rock very hard and would jump at the chance to see them again. Jerry Cantrell tore it up.
Then came Velvet Revolver. I haven't listened to much of these guys in the past, but I did know a few songs. My favorites though were definiely the covers they did. Those included: Insterstate Love Song, Wish You Were Here, It's So Easy (GnR), Patience, and Mr. Brownstone. All of which were amazing. They ended the night off with Slither.
I'm skipping work today to recouperate. My voice is shot from yelling and singing so much. Definitely the best show I've seen to date.
