Just wondering is it me or is our summer turning into one big wash out?? I mean for the last 4 to 5 weeks all we have had is rain practically every day in the form of heavy showers or downpours that last for hours at a time... something is very weird this year with the weather....

Awh... that sucks.. Its a real drag when it rains during the summer too much... This is when we want to get outside.. and not get wet... well only if we are planning on swimming.. lol Here in Nova Scotia its the Tall Ships weekend so downtown will be a buzz.. and they had been forecasting rain all week and into the week end.. but of course they were wrong again... and now its supposed to be sunny today and tomorrow anyways... but that could change..

Rain all day over here too. A couple of weeks ago we had huge flooding in my county. I don't mind it though, so long as i'm not outside. At least when it rains it cools off which means it's better to play guitar; my house doesn't have air conditioning so it can get kinda warm.

God, send it over to Florida. We're 11" below normal rain fall this year. It usually rains between 3/4 to 1" every afternoon and it hasn't rained at my house in weeks. What REALLY sucks is that I live on a lake, on a canal, and it's so low that I can't keep my boat behind my house. I know "Whaaaa, I have to go to my friend's house to get my boat, whaaaa"

In the panhandle we're getting afternoon thunderstorms right now, usually between like 1:00 and 3:00 which then cranks the humidity WAY up, then at 5:15 I have PT.
Nothing quite like running three miles when it's 90°+ out and the humidity is just shy of "swimming pool."

I can sympathize with you on that. "2-a-days" when it's 90+ first thing in the morning, then 100+ in the afternoon, with the humidity around 75-90%, which adds about 20 degrees to that temperature... add too that all the football gear you have to wear, two times a day.
I really don't miss high-school football lol

We've gotten a fair amount of rain here lately, but we were a lil behind so it just caught us up. But where we call the "hill country" (Austin, San Antonio, etc) had relentless rain for awhile causing some serious flooding...and their rivers empty here turning our bay into diarrhea.
The way I look at it is that there really is no "normal". That's where most of the climate change alarmists lose me. Regardless of whatever affect we're having on the climate, there's not really a flat-line temperature or precipitation level that the planet is "supposed" to be at. It has always been a volatile changing system. So we can't expect to be able to predict or control it to our ideals.

Having said that, I shouldn't complain, cooler rainy days are normally better for playing guitar.

The weather here has been hot enough that I dragged my old air conditioner out of storage and set it up yesterday. I haven't used it in seven years, but temperatures over 30 degrees C, with the humidity over 60% are more than I can handle.
Calgary nights are usually 10 - 15 degrees cooler than the daytime temps, but that hasn't been enough to cool off the house before the sun comes back for a nother scorcher.

We've had gales and storms here for the past few weeks. They've settled down a bit now, but they broke my internet cable in the process...

Whoever it was that invented running was a Gyot-damn sadist.

So I was on my way home from Sophie's today, and I was thinking "hmm, it look nice outside now". Five minutes into my journey the heavens opened and I got soaked from head to toe.
